Every screen in the system is laid out the same way. Learn the frame once and you can find anything without hunting for it.
The parts of the screen
- The menu, down the left. Grouped by the kind of work — Sales, Purchases, Stock and so on. Click a group heading to open or close it; the system remembers which ones you left open.
- The bar across the top. Search, help, alerts and your own account.
- The trail under the bar. Shows where you are, for example Home, then Sales, then Invoice. Click any part of it to go back up.
- The page itself. Either a list of records or a form for one record. Both work the same way everywhere — see Every list works the same way and Every form works the same way.
The menu down the left, the search and help icons across the top.
Find something fast
- Press CtrlK anywhere in the system.
- Start typing. A few letters is enough — a customer name, part of an invoice number, a stock code, or the name of a screen you want.
- Click a result, or press Enter on the highlighted one. You go straight to that record.
Search looks across your customers, suppliers, documents, stock and the menu itself, so it is usually quicker than clicking down the menu.
Only things you are allowed to see appear in the results. If a colleague can find something you cannot, it is a difference in what your role allows, not a fault. The rest of the top bar
- Light and dark. The sun and moon switch changes the look. It is remembered for you, not for everyone.
- Help. The question mark opens the guide for the screen you are on, without losing your place.
- Alerts. The bell shows anything waiting for you, such as a document needing your approval. Click through to see them all.
- Your account. Your name at the far end opens your own settings — your details, your password, and sign out.
Worth knowing
- A padlock on a menu item means the feature exists but is not part of your current plan. You can still see where it lives.
- A menu item you cannot see at all means your role does not include it. Ask whoever runs your workspace — see Inviting your team.
- A number beside a menu item is a count of things waiting, such as reports still being prepared.
- Narrow screens collapse the menu behind the button at the top left. Everything is still there.
