You do not apply for an InvoiceNow ID, also called a Peppol ID, on its own. It is created when you activate InvoiceNow on your Company Profile, from your company's registration number (UEN) or your GST registration number, and it becomes live once someone authorises it in Corppass.
Before you start
- Your Registration Number and tax registration number must both be filled in on System ManagerCompany Profile. See Company Profile.
- Decide which email address to use. The activation email goes there, and whoever opens it needs Corppass access for your company.
- Only the owner and roles that include the company profile can activate InvoiceNow.
- If the ID you are registering is already held by another InvoiceNow provider, it has to be de-registered there first. See Moving your InvoiceNow ID to another provider.
Choose your identifier type
The identifier type decides which number your ID is built from.
- SGUEN uses your UEN. It is for any business or organisation with a UEN.
- SGGST uses your GST registration number. It is for GST-registered sole proprietors without a UEN.
- SGUXN uses your UEN followed by a 3-character suffix. It gives a system, department or operational unit its own ID under your UEN. It can only be registered once an SGUEN ID for the same UEN is on the InvoiceNow network.
Your company holds one InvoiceNow ID at a time. To change its type, deactivate InvoiceNow and activate it again with the new type. If the activation form has no Identifier Type, SGUEN is the only type offered.
Register your InvoiceNow ID
- Open System ManagerCompany Profile and find the InvoiceNow section.
- Click Activate InvoiceNow.
- Pick the Identifier Type. The InvoiceNow ID beside it shows the ID that will be registered and updates as you fill in the form.
- Check the number and Company Name filled in for you. The number is your UEN, or your GST registration number for SGGST. Both should match your ACRA or IRAS records exactly.
- For SGUXN, type the 3-character Suffix, letters and digits only — for example, 001.
- Type the Email address the activation email should go to.
- Click Submit Activation. The section shows Pending Activation with your new InvoiceNow ID.
- An email is sent to the address you entered in Email. Open it and log in to Corppass to authorise the activation. Nothing completes until someone does.
- Once the authorisation goes through, the status on System ManagerCompany Profile changes to Activated by itself, even if you closed the page in between.
What your InvoiceNow ID looks like
Your ID is 0195:, then the identifier type, then the number it is built from:
- SGUEN: 0195:SGUEN202012345A
- SGGST: 0195:SGGSTM90312345A
- SGUXN: 0195:SGUXN202012345A001
It is shown as InvoiceNow ID in the InvoiceNow section of System ManagerCompany Profile.
Give it to customers and suppliers who want to exchange e-invoices with you. Because it is built from your UEN or GST registration number, it stays the same for as long as your business keeps that number.
Next: GST InvoiceNow
Your InvoiceNow ID lets you send and receive e-invoices with other businesses. Sending invoice data to IRAS is a second activation, with its own email and Corppass authorisation. See Activate GST InvoiceNow.
What can stop you
- If you see "… is already registered on the InvoiceNow network." that ID is held by another provider. Ask them to de-register it, then try again. See Moving your InvoiceNow ID to another provider.
- If you see "SGUXN can only be activated when … is registered in the InvoiceNow directory." the SGUEN ID for that UEN is not on the network yet. Register it first, then try again.
- If activation is rejected, your details do not match the official register. Check them against your ACRA or IRAS records, not your letterhead.
- If it stays at Pending Activation, the Corppass authorisation has not been done. Check the mailbox you entered, including the spam folder.
- If the InvoiceNow section is missing, your plan does not include electronic invoicing. Needs InvoiceNow on your plan
